Decorating Spaces using Crown Moldings
Crown moldings not only hide a badly painted wall corner in your office but also add an element of elegance to this somber area. They are an intrinsic part of home décor.
Using a stud finder tool, find studs located along the wall. Mark these with a pencil and measure the distance on all four walls, so that all trim ends coincide with the studs. Cut trims accordingly.
Standing on a ladder, start at one end of the room and nail each trim only on the studs, with hammer and a nail set. Prepare for corners by cutting the trim pieces at 45-degree angles on the flat side. Turn them over and cut an additional 5-degree angle on the decorative protrusions of corresponding trims so that they fit snugly against each other.
Finally, fill all gaps and nailed points with a matching wood filler to get an uninterrupted even finish.
