PostHeaderIcon Turning a poster into a canvas

The posters can be turned into a more durable form of art by transforming them into a canvas. You don’t need any superior artistic talents but your favorite designs in poster form and ability to trace your designs and enough color theory savvy to then fill in the design with paint in your canvas.

What you will need is a tracing table and a lamp, Poster, Stretched, framed canvas, 4 small table clamps, Pencil, Oil paint, Paint mixing tray, Solvent, Oil paint brushes and Rags.

1. First, place your poster on an artists’ tracing table, the table having a lamp underneath, and then tape your poster so that it doesn’t move around.

2. Now, place your canvas over the poster for tracing and secure on the edges to the table using small table clamps or vices.

3. After this, trace the design’s outlines on the canvas by turning on the lamp underneath.

4. Here, mix the oil paints on the mixing tray to obtain the desired colors.

5. Now, in the end, follow the poster’s design and paint your canvas.
